A few pictures from the zoo

This is my happy baby last evening after our trip to the zoo and only having one morning nap. I can't believe how well he is holding up on this trip with his normal schedule pretty much on hold til we get back home. Here we are all at the zoo, and we were quite the sight I'm sure. Grandma Annie didn't want to go to the zoo because she said she can't be in the sun all day, we told her we have sunscreen, then she said she can't walk that far, so we told her we would rent her a wheelchair. So really she had no excuse and she actually had a good time. Poor Rachael had to push her around in the WC and it was really hilly, so she was either really pushing hard or struggling to hold onto the chair when going down the hills. The didn't have baby strollers to rent, just toddler ones, but luckily we ran into a gal at the zoo who was staying at our hotel and she said she had a stroller in her car we could use. So we got lucky again.
Here are all the kids at the zoo when we first got there before they were too hot.
Cooling off under the mister, it was 100 degrees and very hum id.
Looks like I might have to break down and give Tony a bath, he hasn't had one since we got here. We go swimming every day and the pool is almost like a bathtub, it's hot enough anyway, I think they heat it like the hot tub. Anyway between the swimming, sweating, and sunscreen his hair is pretty wild.

Thats great that you got Grandma to go. Looks like a fun (but hot) time! Tony looks like he's having fun with all of his cousins.

Some random person offered you the use of her stroller? How did you guys even know that you were both staying at the same hotel?

I'm telling ya, those Okie's will give the shirt off their backs if they see you need it.

Congratulations on insisting Grandma Annie go to the Zoo with you. She can be so stubborn. Oh, how I wish I were there.

Is Grandma still the BEST grandma in the world or what? Has the nostalgia and distance between visits made her bigger then life or is she still bigger then life?

I love the pics! Kinda weird seeing grandma Annie in a wheelchair, though... she seems so timeless when I don't see her very often!

Too bad they don't keep the pool cooler since it's so hot outside.

I agree about the wheel chair, I dont like to see her in it. Im guessing though that it isnt hers and they just had it there at the zoo for people to use..?? Tony is looking so increadibly adorable. Is he crawling yet? Leah is fast as can be. She is already pulling hersel up to stand next to things. She will be walking before too long. I wanna see Tony again! Make sure you tell everying, especially Grandma scrooge and aunt mone that I am thinking of them and wish I could have come!

Hi Lori and Baby Tony...
Grandma Janice came for alittle vacation to Aunt Sandy's house for a few days! She misses little Anthony, but he looks like he's having a fun time! We did alittle "baby" shopping today for him...he'll be well dressed for the rest of the summer! :)
Kirsten goes into the hospital tomorrow evening for baby PJ's big arrival. Induced Thurs. AM...we'll keep you posted! :)
Love,
Grandma J and A. Sandy

Grandma doesn't need the wheelchair, but it's kind of tiring for her to walk around all day, so that's how we enticed her to go out with us: we promised we'd push her around. We rented the wheelchair at the zoo. We did the same thing today at Frontier City. And, we got her to go on both the logging ride and the bumper cars, so she's hardly handicapped!

Natalie and Francie, Rach is right, grandma is anything but handicap, she still drives a pickup truck with a pillow on the seat bc she is so short, and Rach got her to ride all kinds of rides at Frontier city. She is still as crazy as ever, and she is thinking about coming to MI next summer for a visit. We told her to start planning now.
