Into Everything

Okay, so I think I said before that my house is baby proof for the most part. Well turns out that for the most part it's NOT that baby proof at all. How naive of me to think that putting a few picture frames and nick-knacks out of his reach and putting up a few baby gates would suffice. Guess where he wanted to play and explore yesterday? And there was no redirecting him to more appropriate things to play with. He was insistent that this is where he wanted to be.

I guess it's time for some more baby proofing. I really don't want to have to screw those plastic latches on all my cupboards and drawers, so if any moms out there that have any better ideas please let me know. In the mean time, I have found a new higher place to keep my cleaning supplies.

You might have to resort to the door locks.

What happened to your cute little signature thingie?

What an adorable little stinker!

If you have knobs on the outside of the cupboard doors, then just wrap rubber bands around them. (Natalie taught me that when Madeline was Tony's age.) In the mean time... Just give him his own cabinet space in the kitchen. clean one out and put a few of his toys in there. Madeline loved hers.

What a cutie! Can't wait to see him later this week!

Way past the days of needing kid locks on cabinets, we had to place some on them to keep the dog out of the trash. We bought a small set of tot locks for two of the kitchen cabinets. http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/saf/saf71175.html

We found ours at Baby Superstore or whatever it is called nowdays.

Anyway...I love it as it definately works ...plus...we can keep the "key" (a magnet knob) on our fridge-handy to unlocking those cabinets as needed. The locks also can be set to unlock until you need it relocked again.

Oh look! Mom should be proud of her little grandson, he's chosen the spot shot!

The advice of giving him his own cabinet is good. Put Tuperware in it and the kids love playing with it. If you have outside handles that can take the looped baby locks, they are a good idea. I used one for under my kitchen sink as Streusel (my 2nd dachshund) loved to open the door and get in there.

I've just gotten home from your mom and dad's and probably gained a few pounds. We had such a great time but it flew by and there was lots more we wanted to do.

He is so cute! How could you not just let him play? I think giving him his own cabinet is a great idea.

We only put the latches on the cupboards that have dangerous stuff, everything else I just say "not for Hannah" and she finally got the point.
