"A date which will live in infamy," Franklin D. Roosevelt. Now has a new meaning for us as well.
While it was a very long day, and I will spare some of the details, but here is a run down of the day. And just so you know, I have been trying to post this all day long, but caring for a newborn baby is much more time consuming than I thought. I only got a few hours of sleep last night (our first night at home) and was so busy with the baby this morning that I never got around to breakfast, and didn't get lunch till 2. Thankfully my sister Francie came over and went grocery shopping for us and made us some soup for dinner tonight. I have so much more to say and so many more pictures to post, but if I don't publish this now, I may not get another chance today.
Just getting started...
Under the advice of my sister, I put some makeup on when we found out it was very close to push time.

They wouldn't let me eat all day! By 11am, I was really starting to regret not eating breakfast before I left.
Under the advice of my sister, I put some makeup on when we found out it was very close to push time.

I was wondering when you were going to get around to this post! I talked to Mom just a little while ago...sounds like you had a fun day since I talked to you last! Just so you know, Derrick is having so much fun hearing all about your trials and tribulations figuring everything out. It's like he's SO happy that someone else finally crossed over to our side, and really knows now!
Lori he's beautiful! Congratulations! Glad to hear everyone is healthy (although tired). Sleep when he sleeps - hard to do with some much to do during the holiday season but some of the best baby advice I ever received. Oh, and take advantage of anyone's offer to help.just
What a beautiful baby boy! Home with a new baby for the holidays - what a gift!
I cracked up reading (and seeing) about putting make-up on before the final stage of labor. You are one "with-it" lady. They could have cut my legs off and I wouldn't have cared. Of course, I'd had a caudal so felt nothing from the chest down.
Take advantage of all the help, casseroles, meals, errands, etc. that family and friends offer. Nap whenever Anthony is sleeping as you'll be up and awake when he is.
They sure had you in and out of the hospital fast as you only went in on Friday morning. I liked it better 35 years ago when you could stay for 3 days.
Hope things settle down within a few days and you find it easier. Fortunately this is a slow time for your husband so he's around more to help with Anthony and the house.
Someone made a beautiful blue baby blanket for Anthony.
He is gorgeous! Congratulations! Take it easy and don't forget to take care of yourself in between all the time spent taking care of your angel!
did Todd cut his hair?????
Beautiful baby!! I just want to second what everyone else says: take advantage of offers of help. It might be hard at first, but it is so worth it to let someone else help take care of the baby for a little while just so you can sleep or take a bath or be by yourself!!
Just had to comment again. Both kids are looking over my shoulder ooohing and aaahing over Anthony.
